Installing Screen Connect Client (Mac)
We apologize that launching the host client in Mavericks has been confusing, but here’s what you need to use the Mac host client:
1)When you first joined a session on the host page, you should have seen the following message: “The mobile app must be installed before proceeding. Click OK to confirm it is installed. Click Cancel to install. Rejoin the session after installation.â€Â The wording of this message isn’t very clear, since we’re not installing a mobile app. It really should just say “app†or “client.†But if you have not downloaded and used the host client before, you need to hit CANCEL, not OK.
2)After hitting CANCEL, the host client will be downloaded. Double-click on it to install it. You may see a message from Gatekeeper, blocking you from opening the app because it is from an unidentified developer. You can allow the ScreenConnect client by following these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5290 .
3)If you’re seeing a long error message that says, “There is no application set to open the URL…â€, you will need to clear your cookies in your browser. Afterwards, try to join a session again. This time, when the “mobile app†prompt appears, select CANCEL, not OK.
We have plans to make this better and more intuitive. Sorry about the inconvenience.
